Teeth Whitening ( Bleaching ) in Istanbul

Obvious discoloration of teeth can be a physical handicap that impacts on a person’s self-image, self-confidence, and physical attractiveness. A person due to cosmetic dental problems may profoundly affect in their self-esteem, interactions, environmental adaptations, personal relationships, job opportunities, and other fundamental aspects thus affecting their quality of life.

The overwhelming evidence indicates that tooth bleaching is effective if supervised by a professional dentist.

The professional teeth whitening process starts with a consultation since bleaching treatments are affected by a number of factors including the actual cause of tooth discoloration.

Tooth whitening is not the best choice for you if:

• You have decayed teeth in your mouth. Those decayed teeth need to be treated prior to whitening procedures
• You have gingivitis or periodontitis- gum diseases (again, treat them first!)
• Your teeth have abrasions, attritions or erosions. (Defects of teeth enamel as a result of aggressive brushing, teeth grinding or improper diet with excessive use of citrus fruits or carbonated drinks)
• You are pregnant.

But other than that, one of the most critical aspects of an aesthetically pleasing smile is tooth color. If you do not fall into the contraindications area, bleaching might be a very satisfying option for you.

How long does the procedure take?

There are different types of teeth whitening procedures. In-office and home bleaching.

The protocol includes one session of treatment with three applications of 15 minutes of whitening gel (Totally 60 minutes, cleaning included).

The area where teeth and gums meet is covered with a gel and then hardened it with a high-powered light. This is called a gingival barrier, and it protects your gums from bleaching chemicals during the whitening process.

The actual whitening process involves the dentist applying a gel made of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide penetrates the porous outer layer of your teeth and breaks apart stain compounds using a chemical reaction called oxidation.

The gels are in full contact with the tooth surface and then removed with moistened cotton pellets between each application. At the end of the third application, the gels are removed, all the excess is rinsed with copious water, and finally, the gingival barrier is removed.

Home Bleaching
Your dentist makes a cast and prepares transparent “Essix” trays for you to use at home.

Here usually Carbamide peroxide is preferred.

Treatment protocol is between 4-6 hours a day for 2 weeks. You will also be provided with a desensitizing agent to put on each day after your bleaching session.

What is Dental Botox?

Dental Botox is for more than just aesthetics. Treatments can also help alleviate pain and help correct disorders.
Botox is primarily known as a cosmetic treatment that removes the appearance of wrinkles from the face by causing the muscles to  relax and produce a smoothing effect on the skin.

However, Botox use is not limited to cosmetic applications: dental  botox can provide relief from certain maxillofacial conditions that cause pain.

Dental Botox can help many chronic ailments such as TMJ disorders, bruxism, and masseter hypertrophy. It can also help correct high lip lines.
Unlike cosmetic botox injections, dental botox helps treat a number of conditions affecting the face and mouth area.

In particular, dental botox can treat a number of muscle-generated dental disorders such as:

Masseter Hypertrophy

The condition known as Masseter Hypertrophy is characterized by the enlargement of the masseter muscles. Masseter muscles are what the mouth uses when it masticates or chews food and are some of the strongest muscles in the body by weight. While idiopathic hypertrophy is a rare occurrence that has no known causes, many experts believe it can be caused by defective/misaligned teeth, over chewing (such as gum or tobacco), TMJ disorders, congenital origins, or even stress and anxiety.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders

Temporomandibular disorders affect the jaw muscles, temporomandibular joints, and the nerves surrounding the area. Anything that hampers the harmonic function of the muscles, bones, and joints can lead to temporomandibular disorder. It often results in chronic facial pain, including migraines, jaw clicking or popping, shoulder and neck pain, and earaches.

Bruxism is the condition where a patient grinds teeth or clenches the jaws due to stress or anxiety. TMJ can also produce this symptom. Prolonged bruxism can damage the teeth through grinding, and can lead to more extensive discomfort including headaches or facial pain. Interestingly, most people with bruxism are often unaware whenever they grind their teeth and clench their jaw.

In addition

– High lip lines
– Nasolabial folds
– Radial lip lines
– The appearance of gummy smile
– Improving orthodontic prosthesis or fixing orthodontic relapses
